whats the easiest way for a roofer to move to new zealand?

can anyone help, i am a roofer with years of experience in slating tiling leadwork and EPDM rubber roofing but unfortunately without a formal qualification (nvq etc) i am looking to emmigrate to new zealand as soon as possible (1 year??) what is the easiest way of doing this, sponcership, full visa??? how much blah blah blah, i would appreciate answers from people who may have been in a siular position at some point with as much detaided info as possible, thanks in advance.

Sponsorship only works if there is a demand for your skills, I’ve no idea if there are. Certainly not this year due to the recession, it has also hit the building industry hard. Here’s the job website:

go to yellowpages.co.nz & look up the roofing businesses & contact them to ask how it works & if you’d be required here.

Also ever been to NZ on holiday? If not then how do you know you actually want to emigrate here?
